Founder & CEO, iksa
Hey, I'm Shaun, founder and CEO of iksa, the operating system for longevity medicine. I've been a founder since 2009 and spent over fifteen years in healthcare, the last decade of it in software.
Over time, I've watched the burden of disease impact healthcare's effort to build a digitized continuum of care. In traditional care models the loop is split across parties: the payer pays for the visit, the provider delivers it, the patient manages much of what happens between visits, and outcomes often live somewhere else entirely. Most healthcare software still behaves a bit like a filing cabinet, very good at storing what happened in the visit, much less useful for managing the months of care around it.
I spent those years on most sides of that loop: trial operations at McKinsey, interim product leadership through ProduxLabs at Insight Partners, the United Nations, health systems small to large, life sciences organizations, and the governments of India and Honduras. In India I helped build a forecasting model that scaled up to billions of doses. As a founder since 2009, I've had a unique privilege to work with clinicians and operators across diverse health systems to advance patient outcomes.
Longevity may be one of the first models where the incentives actually support that continuum. The patient is the customer, care happens through protocols lasting months, and whether the patient gets a result is closely tied to whether they stay engaged. So at iksa we run the clinical operations of stem cell, peptide and longevity providers, on a single record across notes, labs, wearables and chats that clinicians, nurses and patients can all reach.
We believe in a future of medicine where every personalized protocol is chosen from evidence of what worked for patients like this one.
I founded my first health organization, MDJunior, at fourteen; it has run more than sixteen medical missions across Latin America and Asia. I also founded the Global Youth Health Summit. Both are still active, and both have grown into large networks. I'm a director of Longevity Global, where I run the Baltimore chapter.
I'm from Atlanta, based in Baltimore, and also known as Shaurya Verma. Jazz stays on. I'm a big believer in the role of chief happiness officer, and Ted, our goldendoodle, has never missed a day.
